~Pendle Hill~
12th April 2010
The good weather continues and after tea I made a dash for the sunset. I left home at 7pm and had to push it to get to the top in time....

Pendle Hill
Roadside parking at 19:25, still no leaves on the tree.
The Stile
I reached the top of the steps in 19 minutes from the car, that's one of my quickest ascents.
Summit Activity
Didn't have it all my own way tonight. The dog won the race.
The Sunset
The Summit
Bumps on the horizon include Ingleborough, Pen-Y-Ghent, Fountains Fell and Buckden Pike.
The Setting Sun
Now that the earth has tilted and the sun sets in a more northerly position, it no longer sets over the sea. Those undulations seen as the sun sets are surely Lakeland mountains. Coniston Fells / Scafells? Take a closer look....
Suggestions from Peter Burgess Esquire
